Anti-Theft light blinking when outside temp above 90 degrees

2000 Ford Excursion 5.4 Triton with 226k and an aftermarket alarm that I have no idea how to work. I've owned the truck for about a week and everyday around 3-5pm when the temp is above 95 degrees here at Edwards, AFB, CA the anti-theft flight starts blinking and truck won't start. I've learned how to reset the pats system by leaving the ignition on until the theft light stops blinking and then turning key off and removing it for over a minute. This only happens when it's hot out side. Can anyone think of why the theft system only acts up in hot temps???
