Trans cooler and temp gage
#17
I just installed my temp gauge today. It is an electric one and I put the sender in the test port. I took it for a short drive around town and only got the temp to around 150 after about 10 min. Of driving. My truck does have the small factory external cooler though. Does it matter what type of wire you use for the sender? I don't know much about electric or what certain wires are called but I think it was around 16 ga. And it was the type with a bunch of strands inside the wire insulation. I hope this is adaquit for this gauge any input is appreciated.

no it didnt come with the guage. what are the safe temp ranges for the sender in the test port? and also i know you shouldnt screw the sender all the way in right because it might hit stuff in side. i still have a little less than an 1/8" threds exposed on the outside of the sender is that probably in deep enough? i just want to make sure i am getting right readings.
