Straight pipe 08 6.4?
I'm looking for a thread related to 6.4 straight pipe or at least cat delete and cat back. I live in Cali so not sure about regs, don't really care if it's "legal" as long as I can switch it for inspection. Not interested in chips and or programmers , just intake and some new pipes to let her breath a bit!

Are you talking about deleting the DPF? If you are thinking about deleting the DPF and Cat, you have to have a tuner, otherwise the engine with eventually go into permanent regen mode and burn up your motor.
If you get a tuner, then by all means put an intake, and pipe from the turbo back! (or from the downpipe back).
Oh but you will definitely not be able to pass emissions in Cali. Just move to Texas or Wyoming (there are a few others, but we'll start with those)

You can remove your muffler and go straight pipe but that won't help it breath better your restriction is the catalytic converter and particulate filter. I removed everythign from the down pipe back & have an H&S tuner . Massive mpg gains, no warranty though but that's on me. Truck soiunds better too I went with a Pro-Flow 4". I did the same thing to a friends 2010(mine is a 2008) but on his we went 5" and no muffler and honestly his is louder but not greatly. If I had to do it again I would put 5" on mine.

Just trying to figure out if this is worth dumping 1100 bucks into it.

And I don't take it as easy as I could... definitely could get better mileage if I drove like my grandpa, but where's the fun in that?!

Running down the highway at 65mph when my truck went into regen I would average about 11.5-12mpg towing my 14500 5th wheel 8-9mpg. With egr, dpf and cat gone. I just drove from Atlanta Ga. to Detroit Mi. towing said 14500 5th wheel and got 11.5 up and 11.7 back. 65 empty highway is a calculated 19-20mpg
