+1 on this most auto parts stores usually carry the FL1995 for around 10.00 if Wallyworld is out. They seem to have good prices on oil too, I just bought 15qts and the filter for just under 68.00

I'm thinking Cummins Valvoline Premium Blue or Chevron Delo 400. Any thoughts?

Also, what do you guys use to catch/store your old oil until you
can take it away or have it picked up?

I use a 5 gallon drain pan (I think I got from Wal-Mart), and I am pretty sure that's it made in the USA. After I drain it I put it in empty gallon jugs from orange juice or the gallon jugs the oil came in (after I drain them for a little while). Hope this helps.

I have a huge drain pan that is probably 8" deep and 18" across that barely holds all the oil if you start with it empty. After I fill the motor with oil I use the empty oil bottles. I usually fill 10 or so before I take them all to the dump and pour them out for twenty minutes. I don't know anything about those two oils. My Ex has only ever had Shell Rotella T 15W40 in it. About 15,000 miles ago I switched to Rotella T6 Synthetic. In my experience Shell oils are excellent. My oil analyses from blackstone labs show great results.

I also run RotellaT 15-40 also bought at Walmart. One of the main reasions is just about every truck stop carries rotella. I personally don't like to mix oil brands, and it's usually 13.00 for 4 quarts. Walmart also sells individual quarts of rotella as well. I use a standard 18qt drain pan then use the jugs to transport it

I've been using Valvoline Premium Blue for the past three years, and Chevron Delo before that. Both are fine oils. The only reason I switched is because the Blue is sold at a store I frequent, and the Delo isn't.

The garbage company that services my city has an oil recycle program. They provide the oil containers for free. All I have to do is set the full containers curbside on garbage pick up day.

I had been using the Motorcraft 1995 from walmart, but I am going to switch to the Mobil 1 M1-601. It is an extended range filter with synthetic media. I am using Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic oil and changing it at 7500-8000 mile intervals. If you are gonna change your oil every 3k, I think the Motorcraft is fine, but for longer intervals, I would suggest an extended performance filter with synthetic media. The Mobil 1 is only $2 more.

I used Rotella 15-40 all the time on my cummins, after I added my f450 to the fleet, and I realized I now needed 7 gallons every time I changed both of them, I was always chasing the lowest oil price, I bought 8 cases of Valvoline Blue, and that lasted me for a while.
I have not found a good enough deal on oil that it is worth it for me to change my own oil on my diesels, My local diesel shop will change it for $65 bucks. By the time I buy the oil and filter it is more then that. Now that I have added a 3rd diesel to the family, he will be getting all of my oil change business. They use rotella15-40 and ford motocraft filters, so it is worth it to me to let someone else play in the oil, though I have spoiled them, since I have Fumoto drains on all but the one I just picked up this past weekend.

I've been running Mobil 1 filters for the last few years. I bought them from a place called Filter Dump where they had a ton of Mobil 1 filters. I don't think they are still around.

I have 3 TDI's and the 7.3 I buy 2 19L (5 Gallon) pails of Rotella T6 5-40 when Canadian tire puts them on sale for $127 (i think ) I use Ford Filters from the dealer (have not seen them any where else) and Boche for the TDI
Change them twice a year or 10,000km (6200 Miles) what ever comes first

They seem to have the sale every 3 months so it works out for me
