09 F150 intergrated brake control

Any ideas? My dealer said $350 plus looked at ebay 09-10 for $199 but the model # does not match up. Their is another on ebay with correct # for $263. $199 sounds alot better. Any ideas

I would highly recommend that you stay with the correct model number and part number for your truck. You'll most likely have fewer problems. $263 doesn't sound bad for the correct integrated brake controller. If money is a big issue I recommend a quality aftermarket brake controller like the Prodigy P3. It's almost as good as the factory unit for around $180 with the ready-made harness to plug into the factory trailer tow plug. It's truly plug and play. But you'll lose the anti-lock brake function of the factory controller. Just remember that sometimes spending a little more $ up front is less expensive in the long run. It's always cheaper to do it right the first time.

i have a Prodigy in my F350 and i love that thing! Simply push button for boost settings and a simply dial that increases the voltage to the trailer, six years with it and never a problem

I love the Prodigy in my 06 F150 also. I had the integrate brake controller in my 05 SD and loved it. Prodigy is very close to the factory set up. You just don't have ABS on the trailer with the Prodigy. I bought the ready-made harness ($15) to plug into my factory trailer tow harness and had the controller installed and operating in 10 minutes. It actually took longer to decide where to mount it than the install took.

Why would you clutter up your dash with an old school brake controller when you can have the factory controls and state-of-the-art in technology with ABS and sway control?

I had a Prodigy in my Superduty. Worked fine. Wouldn't go back for a moment now that better stuff is available.

Because the factory integrated brake controller wasn't available on an 06 F150 and I was told that the PCM on an 06 F150 would not support one. So Prodigy was the next best thing.

This isn't about you. This is about the OP who has a newer truck.
