My new project: 75 F350 Crew

[IMG][/IMG]Bought this truck last weekend. Hauled it 650 km after work one night (got back at 2:30) with my f150 you see in the pictures. Got 14mpg at 70km/hr, 10mpg at 105. Sorry got a bit off topic. Planning on stripping it down, repairing the body and installing on a powerstroke frame but that will be a while away.

6.0 powerstroke, hopefully +05. Yes a full frame and powertrain swap. This is because it will make life a heck of a lot easier, dont have to mock up engine, tranny, axle, driveshaft mounting locations.
Here is some pictures of the cab ready to be removed:

are you gonna do head studs and etc on the 6.0? if youre not familiar you may want to read up on them before you do the swap.

Thats a big project. I'd probably cut the firewall out and get a truck that rolled over and weld the firewall and floor pan into the crew cab. no wiring issues that way and you'd get to keep all the creature comforts.

yeah - I'd avoid that 6.blow motor like the plague. But that's just me.

That's a cool looking truck. Don't ruin it by putting in on a super-dookie frame.

I initially thought it would be a shame to cut up the old truck, but with so many getting scrapped and etc, if he follows through with it, it will keep it on the road for a long time.

the 6.0 wouldn't be my choice for a swap mainly due solely to its complexity. Its an extremely complex motor, exponentially more so even than the 7.3 it replaced. also I can tell youre new to 70's trucks... next time pull the whole front clip, its way faster than doing the fenders individually!

Yeah it will be a 6.0 with head studs. egr delete. straight pipe. I am located in Saskatchewan. Canada. and the old powertrain will be for sale. Yeah important not to experienced with the dents pulling the front clip definatly would have been easier. what's wrong with the superduty frame?
