Help! - How to pull counter weighted crank spacer?

Help! - How to pull counter weighted crank spacer?

How do you remove the crank spacer shown in the photo? The slot is 180 degrees opposite from the crankshaft ridge. So can I force it to turn to line up without damaging anything?
