Holes drilled in passenger doorframes?
I am looking at buying a 2013 Navigator, and my garage mechanic says its mechanically ok. But they are not body work guys, so don't really know what to make of this:
Both passenger door frames have had holes drilled (less than 1/2 in diameter) in the rear-fender side of the door frame. One side was patched up with a round dot of something, but the other side has 2 exposed holes. The salesman says its from dent removal, and that they probably just ran out of patches for the other side.
Does this make sense, and is it something to be worried about? And is there a fiberglass insert involved in the doorframe? My mechanic says it seems to be a fiberglass panel, as the holes are thicker than sheetmetal.
Should I run away, or proceed forward with buying it?
Many thanks

I was going to say that it sounds like holes from a PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) job, so yes his story sounds legit. Generally, holes are only drilled as a last resort but some guys will drill straight away in order to get the job done quickly, especially if there isn't an individual owner to answer to. While I would go ape s**t if a PDR guy I hired did this without asking, pre-existing holes on a car I was interested in purchasing wouldn't send me running.
