The Good Thread
Early Job one, had a few cab offs for oil leaks, but all is good now, the warranty is done and I'm now modded, a few things to note: original rad and this truck has never let me down or stranded me,, ever. In this thread can we hear nothing but positives about our trucks,,, that would be cool. I am a firm believer that once modded, these engines are dependable, reliable and efficient. Let the rants and nay sayers ensue.

Early, Early Job 1 here. Never left me stranded. Pulled things that I it should not pull and is an absolute dream to drive. I have driven to Colorado several times, pulled Wolf Creek, Monarch and many other passes more than once and was driving around others pulling 13000 plus. I have offroaded, even Tin Cup pass which is made for jeeps and ATV's, but never fear we did it in comfort. Never heats up, never without power, I could not be happier.

08 Job 3 here with 154,000km's on it, modded since 7000km. Only issues I've ever had were missing tire pressure sensors from the factory, and a bad tensioner bearing at 135,000km's, both fixed under warranty with no questions asked. Still on the original rad, and even the original brakes. Truck drives like new and is EASILY the most dependable truck I have ever owned!

Great idea for this thread. I also am tired of reading the sad stories about $12,000 repair bills. I have a job 1 08. I bought it with 4000 miles on it 3 years ago. I have put 44,000 miles on it, mostly towing a heavy (16,500 +/-) 5er. The only repair was an updated CAC to stop the shudder and white smoke and a replaced tow/haul switch. I deleted and tuned (very mild) 8,000 miles ago. No problems since and the oil is clean and undiluted. I am happy with the truck but consider the EPA imposed equipment to be obscene and an intrusion upon my right to persue happiness .

Early 08 Job 1 F-250 Lariat completely stock and not 1 problem. I have pretty much done everything this forum says not to do. I rarely tow, have a 3 mile commute to work and only have 43,000 miles in 4.5 years. I change my fuel filters 1 time per year and use synthetic oil at 5,000 miles on the clock and I've had all recalls done. I think the key to success has been filling up at the same Sheetz station EVERY fill up because there is always someone filling up diesel there and the tanker truck probably comes every 3 days as the place is a madhouse so I know I'm getting fresh diesel unlike most stations where you never see anyone getting diesel. Love my truck and wouldn't trade it for anyting.

2010 F250 4x4 with no mods. I just completed a trip from South Georgia to Chicago to Fort Worth, Texas and back to South Georgia. Expect in the cities I had fuel milage (hand calculated) from 18 to 21 mpg. The 21 mpg I had to do twice to see if I made a mistake. I was watching the speed and rpm's and did not go over 2000 rpm's or 65 mph unless I needed to do so. I was really impressed on how the truck handled. I stayed on highways most of the time, was not towing anything, but did have a full bed of stuff, myabe 1500 to 2000 pounds.

Keep in mind that all these super duties can easily give you inaccurate mileage readings by the way you fuel up. Station pumps have different flow rates which means a station pump with a slower flow rate will pump more fuel before you see foaming rising up the tank neck. I have 2 super duty's and their both the same when it comes to fill ups, once the nozzle kicks off I can slowly add 3 more gallons of fuel before it reaches the filler neck. Any other way of filling your tank and you will get hand calculated false readings.
