They probably went to a 12.5" disc when they raised the torque rating.

I would get the one to fit the 1989 flywheel you are using.
Because the 12.5" pressure plate will not bolt up to the '89

Gary Lewis has an epic thread going on https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-zf5-swap.html
Where he is putting one behind the 351M in his father's old truck.
There is lot's of discussion of discs, flywheels, release bearings, pilot bearings, bolt patterns, starter engagement, etc...

Oh, I forgot to add that your automatic starter will not have the proper depth of engagement for the new (old) flywheel.

I have a question about an engine swap, using a zf5, I am currently running a 5.8 in my 90 F 250. I am looking into buying a 460 from a 73 lincoln. I realize that the the EFI and computer wont work. this is a mud bogger and wont see street use. from my research, I can upgrade the clutch to the 460 version. but will the block bolt to the trans?

A 1990 5.8 gearbox will not bolt to a 460.

The ZF should have the slave cylinder built in and the only thing you would need to change would be the line from the master cylinder unless it has the same snap on fitting on the transmission end

Only the Windsor pattern ZF has an internal slave.
The 460 and diesel versions are external.

I'm not certain.
Wasn't '97 the year the F-150 split from the SD 250-350 body style?

can anyone confirm one way or another that an f-super duty is going to use a different clutch/brake pedal setup than a similar year f250/350?

ford has part numbers listed as this:
F3TZ-2455-B = 1992/97 F250/350 over 8,500 lbs. GVWR.

F3TZ-2455-A = 1992/97 F(Super Duty) F450 & etc.

confused?

The "A" & "B" suffix indicate they are different parts.
(different engineering revision)
Maybe "A" is for a hydroboost system???
