Anyone from the Washington state area know a good transmission mechanic? Preferably in the Tacoma or surrounding areas.

Oh Ken,

why did you have to mention that he usually keeps a BTS in stock. Damn, maybe the manual to auto switch is coming sooner than I thought.

He keeps one in stock!?! Where the #$%@ were you with this news last August? Oh... I remember... I never consulted with anybody here before pulling the trigger. I'm a shining example of how costly it can be if you don't let the Brotherhood cover your back.

I have never heard of that place. It looks like they are in Orting, just outside of Tacoma. Cruising around their website, their prices for most parts seem a little high?

Ooof... they're really proud of their products. That BTS looks about on par, if they include some mods to the cooling system like what was done to my HD4R100.

Scott is the name of the guy who runs it and yes he is out of Orting. His primary focus is a mechanic for these rigs.

From the sound of the truck it seems like I need a flexplate. She shifts fine except for when I slam on it she seems to have trouble. The sound is a very high pitch rattle at idle. Im not towing anything yet or trying to make serious HP so I dont need a BTS or JW and from doing some reasearch I'll either replace or get the TC rebuilt. How much would it be to get a TC rebuilt vs getting a new one. I was looking at getting a Racer X TC Prowler Triple Disc anyone have any of there products?

Sounds like you have a 99? They were know for loud rattle in TC. Sounds like marbles in a tin can when idling? I lived with mine for way too long. Finally got so loud I had to have the TC replaced. Just to be safe I replaced the Flex Plate as well. I had the dealer replace mine at about $1000 for the TC, Flex Plate and Labor. It has been so quiet since havng the work done like having a new truck. You might want to check into putting a super duty lock up TC on a stock trans. I decided against it.

Yes, go to RPM... Mention Lostmybeer says hello and to lower his prices for you. I've known Scott for years.

Scott runs a small business. That is probably the number, just leave a message and the email. He is a owner/operator and is quite often "under the hood".

I live about 45 minutes from this guy. I have no one to go to right now if I have a problem that I can't tackle. Wood and Lost, is this guy my best bet in the greater Tacoma area or is their others that are reputable in Pierce County you know of? Thanks

I know of no other mechanics in that area that I would refer others too. I know Scott and I know he owns and drives these trucks. He has worked on other friends trucks and has always done them right.
