Can anybody tell me what the correct fluid is for a manual steering box on a 75 F-250

I thought it was supposed to have some kind of grease in it but it is leaking some kind of oil around the seals. When I removed the fill plug I could see some type of grease in it but most of the oil has leaked out. Will fill with grease.

 

The grease has probably broken down over time and turned into an oily substance that is leaking out. ...or some fool poured oil in it.

 

Over the years the manual boxes often times got topped off with 90w gear oil.

Pump it full of a moly based chassis grease until all/most of the oil is displaced.
