Hmmm, that could 'splain how I can get away with leaving the keys in the ignition (many times) overnight around here. Between the OHP car parked a few doors down towards the east, and the sherriff's office a couple blocks to the west, it's rather peaceful here. Until I fire up the car, or dad's truck.......
Don't believe that. We used to be good friends with an Owasso cop. He left his garage door open one night with his police car in the garage, and all his lawn equipment, bicycles and other small stuff were stolen.

Back when the Tulsa police got to bring their cruisers home the guy across the street and the one next door parked theirs at the end of their driveways near the street. The street has just the right curve to it so that the cars looked nose-to-nose when you drove up the street at night. Had to be somewhat intimidating?

Stealing from a house/car that is OBVIOUS as a policeman's, takes testiticular fortitude of massive proportions. It's also rather stupid......
I wasn't saying that I feel safe leaving the keys in the ignition overnight, just that I have inadvertently done so a few times, and haven't had any issues arise. Of course, it's always the 95 B2300 that I forget to check for keys. That's the only thing someone could actually fire up and drive off in, without me hearing it.
On the other hand, I often leave the ignition unlocked on that same truck, as the key will come out without being locked. This allows for driving it even without the key, so long as you don't trip the lever and turn it to "lock".
Same truck has a piece missing on the back of the door key cyl, so the key doesn't lock/unlock the door even though it does fit the cyl.
I can't tell you the number of times I have left the truck unattended, with the doors and ignition unlocked. Not having those items locked has yet to fail at doing the exact same thing that any locked lock can do, keeping out honest people. The dishonest people will get inside, one way or another, if they decide they want to, no matter what. This brings me back to my death penalty arguement..............
Hiya Shane. Have things quieted down at the apts lately? I would hope the heat would keep the thieves at bay. Ya'll should be close to moving in to the new house soon?

I haven't heard of any break-ins lately. There are still punk kids vandalizing things around neighborhoods though! They need to be in year around school, or parents that will bust there <fill in the blank(s)>!!!
Yes we are about a month out from closing, and it can't be soon enough!
Good to hear that the closing date is fast approaching. Ya, i hear ya. There are times like that that i wish real parents would discipline their kids and teach them right from wrong.
So did ya'll get settled into your new house Shane?
I cant wait to move. I'm tired of cra**y neighbors. I need some land to seperate my homestead from surrounding homes.
Yes, we moved in Sept 16th. Got the **** out of them apartments! Just wrapped up building a shed out back so I can finish moving our stuff out of the storage unit!
I miss living in the country, but that 1 hour drive I don't miss.
