Grease fittings

Why no grease fittings on front suspension. Both ram and GM have zerk fittings on their HD models, so why doesn't Ford? How long do these ball joints last on rough roads and how expensive to replace.

There is 1 fitting on the u joint at the hub. Right where the front half shaft joins the hub.

Otherwise, I don't know enough to answer the rest of your post. I will say this though, I wouldn't compare our SD front suspensions to the competition.

I'll go ahead and answer it - ours will still be on the road long after theirs with their zirc's are recycled.

Didn't the older models like you have prior to 2010 have zirk's? My Father has E series vans for his business all prior to 2010 and they all have zirk's.

How well does suspension hold up with mileage and rough roads? Did you have to replace any ball joints?

not sure how they hold up from personal experience, but i know 95% of the guys racing off road in baja and such all drive PSDs for their pit/tow vehicles.

i know there have been people that have had their ball joints and such replaced under warranty if your coverage goes that far

Replacing Ball joints is a common repair on Ford Trucks, But it's usually out past the 100,000 mile point.

Two of the last GM trucks I bought needed new ball joints around 30,000 miles.
So I think the Fords hold up a lot better from my personal experience

Okay so how often should we grease this one fitting? I know on my 08 GMC there were 11 fittings and it was recommended to grease them every 5000 miles.

I'm at 6000 now in my new Ford, so should I grease it? Thanks.

I grease them every oil change. So for me, it's every 5000 miles.
