just bought a new truck and have been looking at chips for increased mph . my question is why don't the dealers offer them especially when they talk about there truck having better mph then whoever . im in the archery business and have talked to the manufactures about almost the same thing about bow speeds theres guys that get extra feet per second with so called super tunes . i asked them why they didn't do it ( manufacturer )and there answer was the bow can get more fps but thats not what it was designed for and would more or like fail at some time .

Chips/tuners are performance enhancers, not really the way to go for fuel economy. And the reason that dealerships don't/or shouldn't offer these devices is that ford won't cover the dealership for warranty claims especially if it was on one of the vehicles that was modded.
Now some people claim MPG improvements, some claim really high improvements, I tend to take those worth a grain of salt. You might see an improvement, you might not. Get it for the performance, you'll be happier with it in the long run.
