Reset TPMS for lower pressure?

Anyone successfully has their tpms sensors reprogrammed to work with tires that have lower max pressure?

Would like to run tires at 60 PSI. That will trip the factory set sensors and say the tire is low.

I've called several dealerships and everyone said NO, can't be done.

Anyone recently had this fixed?

Mine are set @ 55 right now..... but when I tow I put them @ 75 or 80...
as stated in another thread,
guess my dealer set it low so they could say how nice the 250's rode on soft spongy tires

Two years worth of discussions here and it comes down to some dealers that will and some dealers that won't.
You just have to find one willing to do it, sometimes for a fee (which is fair). Many play the liability card.

My dealer only did it after threatening to go elsewhere for service and future purchases. The tech told me that the system used is one where he has to sign in. Then when he makes the change, it warns him that doing so makes him responsible anything happens in the future.

I hate the system and wish the truck didn't come with it. at least let the user set the pressure via the message screen settings. this is another example of government mandating crap on our vehicles and us living with the consequences.

well, this is the same 10% being punished for the behavior of the 90%.
and they made it hard to cheat, expecting people to do that.

this is the cost of the burden of the behavior of the stupid on our society is higher than the cost of trying to help in spite of their behavior.

FYI - some of the aftermarket tuners allow you to reset the TPMS threshold. The SCT tuner allows you to change it and some other settings without actually tuning the engine. I can't vouch for warranty issues though.

Anyone know if it can be raised? I run 100PSI in some 14ply 19.5" wheels and that pressure causes a TPMS error.

Don't you have a black maxx?
You can do it with that really easy.

OK sorry, then Kper is right on, keep trying. I tried a bunch around here and was never able to find one that would do it. Good luck!

Actually, I have a better idea.....

Trade him trucks for a couple of days. After driving yours for a bit he will not give a chit about his warranty and he will get a black maxx!

PROBLEM SOLVED
