351 crank no start
Okay I realize this swap has been done and discussed on this site like beating a dead horse but I dont have time to seach for answers and I need them asap. I have a 1995 f150 with 302efi, I just put a 1993 351w efi out of a e250 in it, I used 302 harness and the 302 transmission which i believe is the r7w0, not the e40d, installed the 351 ecu, everything is hooked up, it cranks but no start. i have fuel pressure and spark. I know the firing order is different from the 302 and I did my best to make sure it has proper timing. Has any one run into a similar situation please please please help, im runnin out of time to do this swap and Im obviously missing a piece to the puzzle....

I assume the original 1995 5.0L uses Mass Airflow (MAF). If this is true and you used the 1993 5.8L PCM, it uses Speed Density style engine management they are not a direct plug and play. Put the original 5.0L PCM back in the truck. Run the plug wires for the 5.8L firing order, which should match your 1995 5.0L. Then see where you are at.
You need a different flexplate to work with your 4R70W and 5.8L engine combination. If you used the one from the 5.8L/E4OD you may have a bigger problem on your hands now. The 5.0L will not work on the 5.8L either, they use a different balancing weight.

So can the flex plates be interchanged between transmissions? because I have the trans from 5.8l and can either install it in the truck or swap out the flex plates but from what ive heard, installing the 5.8 A40d trans in the truck would bring more problems such as needing a different length drive shaft and mounts?
As for the computer for the truck, is the problem because I used the 5.0l wiring harness? I dont really want to put the 5.0 computer in because people say they run underpowered due to the extra cubic inches the computer is not compensating for. Thanks for the help though, any extra info would be great

The flexplates for the 4R70W is different from the E4OD. You cannot put the 5.0L/4R70W flexplate on the 5.8L engine because the engine balance weights are different.
Assuming the 5.0L truck PCM is MAF it will run your 5.8L just fine. It will be a huge step backwards to convert the truck back to Speed Density to run the 5.8L/E4OD combination. As well as the drive shaft length differences to deal with.

Since you plugged the 5.8L PCM into the 5.0L wiring harness I hope you did not burn something else up such as the Ignition Control Module (ICM) or PIP (stator) inside the distributor. Your 1995 truck uses a CCD-style ignition with slightly different wiring compared to your 1993 donor vehicle and PCM which uses a Push-Start style ignition. Let alone the wiring difference from Speed Density to Mass Airflow.
Do you still have spark? What is the fuel pressure? Did you remove the distributor on the 5.8L or move it in any way? This leads to have you checked the timing? Do you have the plug wires in the correct order starting from the correct terminal on the cap?

Dear RLA2005 thank you so much for your help this site is awesome, got my 5.8 up and running, still dealing with small issues like vaccum leak and havent hooked up exhaust yet but thats all getting taken care of tomorrow, thanks so much for your help, also one more quick question, is there a trick to getting the dipstick tube in to the block properly? ordered one from ford for the 351 because the one I used from the 5.0 didnt work, leaks pretty bad so any info on that would be great thanks again!!! will be crusin the streets legit soon
