I don't have the greatest metal skills myself but I'm gonna give it a shot. Just for the fact you get newer style brakes suspension. And I believe the motor mounts or there. I'll have to do a lot of research on it tho. I did find someone had a kit that had all pre made weld in brackets to mount the complete crown vice front clip .

While looking at the old pics my mom found, I realized the hubcaps in the pictures were still around, I had seen them as a kid and went and found them in my dads shed. They are from a late 50's Thunderbird, don't know if G'pa put them on, or were there when he bought the truck, but got a new set of tires for the old rims, cleaned and repainted the hubcaps/center caps, and its back to its former self, and the Dodge wheels are off, lol.

All I've done is light cleaning on them from sitting since 1980 and my wife repainted the center caps.

Some update photos of the new chrome front bumper on, old black one was bent up pretty good.

New, smaller tires are much easier to steer than the 17 big Dodge Ram tires I had on before.

Also, was able to get a new key cut to match original door lock so can lock it up now, had an ignition key, but no door keys until yesterday.

Got a full coat of primer on the truck, bodywork still not 100%, but getting to end of summer and wanted to be sure metal was protected.

Still looking for a decent driver quality set of side mirrors, G'pa had some big towing mirrors on it, and a driver quality chrome rear bumper, have brackets, Mid Fifty had 1 in S&D section and I ordered, but they called and said it had already sold

Amazing how a coat of paint makes any vehicle look 20 years newer! The body looks plenty good for a driver.

Not a whole lot of update, but found a chrome rear bumper and got that installed. Also installed an electric fan to help keep it cool. Truck originally had high mount fan, but since it now has a 1960 292 in it, fan mounts to water pump pulley too low, and shroud doesn't fit, so wanted some extra cooling just in case.

Took it out for a drive around the neighborhood yesterday, fun getting all the looks and thumbs up from the neighbors.
