Power steering bracket

Does anybody know if ford used different sized p/s brackets?
I tried today to take out the spacer that's between the upper bolt on the water pump that the p/s bracket bolts to.
So I took the spacer out, only to find out that the holes in the water pump don't line up with the p/s bracket bolt holes.
I can't get the lower hole to line up with the upper bolt in place.
I found a a/c comp. mount that I'm trying to mount to the block, and with that in place, the bracket for the p/s is pushed to far away from the motor, causing the belt alignment to be way off.
My truck is a 79 4x4 with a 400 out of a 79 Lin cont., so I don't know if I have a mixture of parts or what.
So did ford make different style p/s brackets for a/c and non a/c? And would there be any difference between the Lincoln and a ford bracket?
Thanks.

Depends which pump is on it...Saginaw "Canned Ham" pump or the Ford pump...and if it is the "Canned Ham" Pump...then the factory AC bracket won't work with it.

Ok thanks, I have the new style ford.
I was checking the net last night for brackets, and I found two different styles of brackets, are there any more styles?

The other link i posted was a different bracket, and i was wondering if that was the one i needed?
This is the mess I'm facing.

I don't have a 400 but they all use spacers in one form or another. Different spacers for ac brackets or without. Use washers to align the belts then measure and cut spacers to fit.

I think all three ebay brackets just now posted are the same; 351/400 and are the same as the one you have.

The first link i posted has a bracket that is mounted different than mine.
If you look at where the bracket would bolt to the head, it has several holes as compared to mine that has one, and also it looks shorter in the area to, maybe so the A/C bracket could fit behind it?
And the bracket i have, the water pump holes don't line up with the holes in the bracket, so i have to have the wrong bracket or something.

Yea the ac bracket would have fit behind it. Hard to see the lower mounting hole/bolt to the water pump. I'm guessing that is the hole that doesn't align up. Steve has a 400 maybe he can take a pic tomorrow but he could be too busy at work....

Here's a pic fron the **** post above....

Yeah lower bolt hole on the water pump doesn't line up, and the PO put spacers in there to line the belt up, but its still crooked.
