they are nearing the end of there life if they are original. if they have grey paint on them they are more than likely originals. i am pretty sure it is recommended to replace the IP nad injectors at the same time.

yes, try to get new delphi BB code injectors.

Good luck on the install. I haven't started mine yet but had the same trouble with hector. Couldn't get ahold of him then a call back. Anyway I went with penacola just because. I hope mine works out, should be able to get started end of next week. Let us know how it works out.

Have you ordered your pensacola IP yet? After all the fuss I did get a replacement IP from "Hector with Injectors" and ebay feedback says good product... Anyway what are you putting the IP in and are you replacing your injectors too?

Yes I got the injector pump already. I'm going to replace injectors, IP, glow plugs and return lines all at the same time. Just put a controller in also. Couldn't find one here so one of the brothers sent me one. I was told to line up the y's on the gear's and there be know problem with timing. So I'm going to give it a try, then find someone with the right equipment to time it right. You have an international dealer there in Las vegas, they should be able to time it where you want. I heard International times there's different then Ford.

oh ok good, please let us know how yours turns out... Have you done these before? There are a couple videos on Youtube. The big thing is to mark and leave the housing on with the oil intake. I still have to get injectors, and noticed city diesel has a good price on new Delphi. Did you get a package deal with pensacola IP & injectors, kits?

I got my injectors and return kit from Typefour on here. He is highly recommended and dose alot of work on these engines. No I have not done any work on these engines. Have done some on the powerstrokes and they are different animals. I've had cancer for some years now and am getting better and am trying to do more and more work myself. Had a lot of brothers on here help me so its time I try this myself. I thought you had to take the oil filler part off to line up the timing marks. I haven't really looked at the pump to see if it goes on just one way. Maybe someone will chime in. Thats why I was lining up the Y's on the timing gear. Can you post the video. I'm not good at looking things up.

Don't take the timing gear cover off no matter what you do. If you leave it on, the timing gear won't move. The IP is keyed to the timing gear, so the input shaft of the the IP will only go in one way. Timing is adjusted by physically clocking the IP and tightening the IP mounting bolts to the timing gear housing. The timing gear's time is static but the IP can be rotated for dynamic injection timing. If you look between the IP and the timing gear housing, you will see a bolt (3 total on the IP); these are what need to be removed to change the IP.

I found a couple youtube videos
7.3 IDI Diesel Ford Injection Pump Replacement - Part 1
7.3 IDI Diesel Ford Injection Pump Replacement - Part 1 - YouTube

Ford F250 6.9 Diesel Injectors, O-rings, Return Lines, Tees, the Works!
Ford F250 6.9 Diesel Injectors, O-rings, Return Lines, Tees, the Works! - YouTube

6.9 and 7.3 IDI Injection pump removal
6.9 and 7.3 IDI Injection pump removal - YouTube

Which is the best video example? I am really concerned about the timing housing issue when removing the IP... It seems the last two videos they take off the housing with the IP... I am a little confused

Well thanks, now I am even more concerned... Are there any diagrams on how to remove and replace the IP? Has anyone watched those Youtube videos? If so, any of them worth while?

THANK YOU

Timb1776. I would say the first video is the best. When I meant take the cover off, I meant just the one with the two bolts. The last video would make the job easier but, then you need to get both gears line up with the Y on both gears. TO do this you have to get the engine at TDC so the bottom gear Y is up. Thats the way it was explained to me. Then put the pump together with the Y down to match the other gear. If you use the dot you are 180 degrees off. Thanks for the video's. I would of never found them. They are great. If you look up IP install on here you can down load the instructions your looking for. The video make them more clear. I would post them if I could. I just don't know how.
Eatont9999, thanks for the up date. I meant just the two bolt cover. But now with the video I understand what u meant too. God bless all,

Chet
