Re-keying side tool boxes?

Someone told me I can take the lock off one of the tool boxes on the side and take it to a locksmith. He/she can then make a new key which I can use on all the toolboxes. But the locks seem to be rivited on in the back as part of the handle unit. Was wondering if there's a way to take these locks off (just the cylinder part, or do I need to bring the entire truck to a locksmith?

I know the when I had to have my fourwheeler rekeyed I took it up to the guy in the bed of my truck and he just rekeyed it in the bed. Only cost me 30 bucks so it wasn't to bad. I would just take the whole truck up there

I bought a truck bed tool box a couple years ago from a local farm supply store. They had lost the keys for it and I got it pretty cheap. Called the manufacturer and they said all I needed was the number on the inside of the lock mechanism. They sent me a couple new keys but said I could also go to a locksmith with the number and get a key made. Apparently there were only about 10 different keys for the boxes.

Check with locksmith and see if they can cut a key from the code.
