Me and My young son's are going to get the F1 going mostly stock.

If the motor is ok? We will upgrade the interior, change to 12 volt, electronic ignition and get the body work done.

The F3 is a parts truck but if the motor is ok in it?

We will get it running and after we have the parts swapped to the F1 that we want we will see if we keep or sell it.

Their are a lot of things that we don't know at this point.

But we have some time it's only day one.

Thanks Neal

I will get some tomorrow afternoon if I can get away. They are at my Mom's house as I can not store them at home.

I had a long day moving both trucks from the farm 45 miles one way with my 02 Dodge Dakota Quad cab.

Plus I had to use a come-a long to get the one and wait till they moved the International Pickup out of the way on the F3.

I had never puled that much with the Dodge but it was up to the challenge.

I have read a lot of great threads on hear.

Thanks Neal

Your F3 should have the widowmaker rims. Google the term to find out what they are. Finding a replacement set will be tough because most newer wheels do not clear the stock rear drums. You'll have to replace the rear end in the F3 with one from a pre 72 F250. The bolt patter will remain the same, but will give you better gearing and a wealth of wheel options.

You're a brave man to tow the trucks with small 1/2 ton truck.

Ilya, what are you doing? Stu won't have anything to say! Let him handle the widowmakers, you keep selling those parts!

Congratulations Neal! Good score over there!
Can't wait to see what they look like after you get them dusted off.
Your mom is a saint to let you store two trucks at her place.

I briefly looked at the rims on the F3.

Ok I will have to see what size they are and if they are the 2 part rims.

I will take a picture of them also.

Thanks Neal

If the F-3 is going to be parted out, there's not much need to worry about the widowmakers.

Easiest what to tell if they're WMs is to look on the concave side, you'll see a band, about 1/4" thick, 1-1/2" wide, running the circomferance of the wheel. They're very deceptive, they look like one piece but if they are 17" wheels they're multi-part, maybe not WMs but multi-part.

Aside from the 56, the 49 is my favorite Ford truck! My youngest brother used to have an F-1 and I came *this* close to buying it when he sold it.

Yummy!

(... and I agree your Mom is a saint for housing two of them for you...)

"I had a long day moving both trucks from the farm 45 miles..."

Judging from the picture, that is a 'truck farm'!
