SDARs/DLP module "upgrade"?
Put a post like this in the 1997-2006 Expy forum, then thought this was a better place.
2006 Expedition with RSE. The Sirius does not seem that "good" in that I get a lot of drop outs. Sometimes it is impossible to listen because there is a drop out every 10 seconds or so. This is while driving in wide open prairie with no trees or buildings in sight. Compared to my better half's 2013 Escape, my Sirius sucks.
So, I was wondering if a newer SDARs module would swap in? If the connectors are the same, would it communicate to the head unit the same? Below is what the connections on my SDARs module look like. I am not that concerned with mounting bracketry, as the space the module mounts (in rear side panel behind lh rear door) is pretty roomy.
Any thoughts as to if a different module would solve my dropout problems would be appreciated.
