F6 Rear Shoe Installation

I am trying to re-install my stock F6 rear shoes post stock wheel cylilnder change. What is the magic trick for getting the return spring attached? No matter how I fanagle the shoes, I cannot get the spring between them.

While I have two sets of the covetted 5751 rear wheel seals, I don't want to have to remove the hub simply to replace the shoes.

Hook the spring on before you install the shoes.

Chuck,

I have tried that. Then I cannot get the shoes to sit in the wheel cylinder. Tried sitting the shoes in the wheel cylinder and then attaching the spring... no go. The shoes were not connected at the anchor point while attempting this.

Just not to leave everyone hanging, I replaced both rear wheel cylinders and shoes successfully. Unfortunately, I am still not happy with the brakes as every once in a while, there is no pressure on the pedal. My next ideas are ot rebuild the master and to replace some suspect portions of the vaccume line.
