Lovin' my new Valair dual disc- launch video
Did a little 3rd gear test launch after some break in time on the clutch and took a video of it. The upload to youtube made the speedometer hard to see, but when I opened it in full screen and looked really close I could see the needle. LOL Anyways, tell me what y'all think. This is 0-75mph, 3rd gear launch/burnout. Anyone wanting to know what gauges are what, the A pillar top to bottom is Boost, Pyro, HPOP, and SG. Steering column is fuel pressure. Boost was right at 31-32psi, EGTs stayed right at 1200-1300 the whole run, and ICP usually drops to 2800psi. Looks like fuel pressure dropped to about 20psi at one point.

I think it's a pump problem. I wish the camera woulda picked up the speedometer. The speedometer jumped to 60mph as soon as I got off the clutch and sat there until you hear the RPMs pull down a little. LOL. My tires are about done now, but it was fun. GoPro's are awesome when it comes to getting good camera angles, but light sensitivity is kinda lousy unless you step up to the newest one that just came out.

I've got a zf5, but I would vastly prefer having a built auto over a manual. I searched all over for a manual and love it, but I think an auto would be neat if I could get someone else to foot the repair bill.

I kinda have to agree with Glovemeister on autos. There's no doubt that I absolutely LOVE my manual transmission. It's much more fun for me to drive than just sitting there letting a computer decide what to do. I drive an auto work truck and I get incredibly bored with it. I do have to respect how a truck drives with a BTS. I've ridden in several of them and they are just awesome. Once I either meet my goals with the manual trans or realize that I simply cannot meet the goals, I will probably make the swap to a BTS, John Wood, or Twisted trans.

I would love to have a manual truck, but with a bad back it would end up hurting after a while.
I must say, now that I have a well built auto the truck is MUCH more fun! Shift kit and triple-disc converter really help put the power to the ground better! Now I REALLY need a limited slip out back, I can spin one back tire without even trying...

Glenn, Twisted Diesel is just another good E4OD/4R100 builder that I would trust if I needed an auto built. If I had a choice, I'd probably run one from John Wood.
