10-1/4 rear axle spanner wrench
Started on my 86 F-250 rear brake replacement today. It has a 10-1/4 diff. According to O'Reilly's books it has a 3" hex brg nut holding the hub on. When I got the axle out it turned out to be a 4 slot spring loaded brg nut. I have looked on the Internet but didn't find anything listed for my application. So would someone please tell me what I need and where to find it. None of the local auto parts stores has anything that will work.
Thanks

it sounds like you're describing the same kind of nut found on the front end of 4x4s from that era. tell the parts store you're working on your front wheel bearings and they'll probably hand you the exact socket you need.
if that doesn't work, find a socket in about the right diameter and cut it down to leave fingers in the right places - i have a few that were done this way for different things
