I'll make it easier for you. Your truck either has a Dana 44HD or a Dana 50. They are very easy to tell apart once you know what to look for.
This is a Dana 44 HD. Note how the hub body is much narrower than the opening the wheel sits on. The hub tapers out so the wheel fits:

NO....350's had the D60. No other option..... Any parts store worth a hoot should be able to find ball joints just by the year and model.

Your statement has the key caveat "Any parts store worth a hoot". Most part stores have counter jockeys that know only how to read a 'puter screen.
By 1997 the OP's F250 should have a D50, but the previous pics by Andy will confirm that without resorting to sketchy VIN build sheet info.

I know all 4x4 F-350's came with a D60... this isn't my first trip around the racetrack.
