WOW! EGR Cooler??

WOW!!
EGR Cooler??fficeffice" /><O></O>
Hey guys been a lurker for a wile now just sulking cuz I sold my 03 F350 and tried the ****y Chevy thing "sorry" not a trader just at wits end! But I’m back to Ford now with 04 F350 Crew Long bed but begun to think I got stuck with a bad 60 but it’s starting to look like a bad EGR cooler??? Maybe before I dump more $$$ you all can help! I have a hard start some times 3 cycles even when its warm out, only 9 MPG, poor response, and don’t use a drop of anti or oil UNLESS I’m climbing a slight grade for several miles then she starts the white smoke and pukes the anti out the overflow cap "destroyed 3 caps already" but the oil disappears no sign of losing it more like its dumping into the exhausts?? I thought it was a cracked sleeve or something, now could it be JUST a EGR cooler??<O></O>

Park the truck nose down & pull your EGR valve. If your EGR cooler is leaking you'll have coolant right there below the valve.

Your fuel mileage is terrible, assuming your hand calculating and not believing the lie-o-meter in the overhead...what kind of mods do you have on the truck?

yea the lie-o-meter dont work so its been hand figured but the only mods are after market intke, air cleaner, 5" exhaust "straightend" and 37 1/2" tires have a progame tuner that came with it but the truck wont exept it

I'm not a fan of aftermarket intakes on the 6.0L; if you keep one or not is up to you. I will say the OEM filters better than anything else and will support more HP than your likely to build under the hood. With that said, unless you've re-calibrated your speedometer your mileage is way off. So your MPG are off the wall...and not a true reflection of what your actually getting. What do you mean the truck won't accept the tuner?

The 37 1/2" tires are probably the biggest reason for 9mpg.

I run a 35inch tire and with a 6inch lift so Im catching some drag get 14mpg around town and 18mpg Freewaay long run

I think at 9mpg somethings wrong

The LOOOOONG cranks make me think HPO issue

So how shure are you that your running an OEM Oil Filter CAP/Filter the wrong one will lead to similair Problems that you have as far as MPG and No Power and Long crank

How did the EGR Valve look????

Sorry Guys fficeffice" /><O></O>
I went outa town Vegas World finals<O></O>
anyway zhilton yea I have checked the Speedo its about 2 mph per 10 off and the lio-metter don’t work so I do hand calculations every time I fill, my friends have questioned me as well so I hand them the calculator and show them the numbers that’s when the WOW comes out! And as foe the tuner when I plug it in to the truck it says "High 04 ford" has all the right info about the truck but says it cant communicate with it, when I plug it into the lap top it says high Rex and adds any new down loads to the tuner??<O></O>
<O></O>
And sammy77 yea the tires suck their all show no go "boulevard boys" and would love to sale them if you know of anyone !! <O></O>
but the post I’ve been reading sound like EGR Cooler as far as puking the anti out the overflow and burning the oil off.<O></O>
