Newbie with electrical problem

First of, I'm a newbie to this forum, but I'm pretty sure it is as good a place to share information as the Polaris Ranger Forum of which I'm a member.

I recently purchased a 1991 F250 with the 5.8 motor. From day one the ignition lock gave me uphill. I had it changed it out when I took the truck for emissions and safety inspection and parked the truck for the weekend. I forgot the interior fan on (I thought it switched of when the ignition is switched off). The truck won't start, and the check engine light and battery light remains on even after removing the key.

The battery was charged and starter solenoid replaced but no luck. Any thoughts from any of the members?

If this has been covered elsewhere, I apologize.

The interior fan does shut off when you turn off the key. It sounds like your power is remaining on even with the key off.

Try changing the ignition switch (not just the lock cylinder which you have already done).
