That Summit cam is what I call a "square" cam - both intake and exhaust timing and lift are identical. (Advertised Duration 272/272, Lift .533/.533,)

The comp cam is 268/268 and .494/.494 lift. Almost the same duration, but less overall lift. It'll be easier on the flat-tappet lifters than the summit cam.

Lobe centers I can't find for either cam, not sure if there is some fundamental difference there.

I ran a 292/292, .554/.554 Wolverine cam in my 390 - but I had put bigger CJ-size exhaust valves in the heads with the stock intake valves and ran 1 7/8" long-tube headers.

I'd wait for some more experts on this subject to weigh in, but yes, it looks to be almost the same as the comp cam. We really need the lobe center information for each though.

The Summit K34053 is the same cam as the Crane 272* Energizer. I used one in a 68 Merc 390 with 10 to 1 compression. Good cam. Just a hint of a lope at idle when cold, allowed the motor to use 89 octane fuel with the 10 to 1 ratio. Pulls to 5500 with stock heads and springs. The LSA is 110*, duration @ .050 is 216*.
