mine exits out the rear at a 45 behind the tires. Not much cab noise unless your hard into it and even then can still have a conversation in side no problem not much louder then the noise from the motor it self. Louder with windows open and if your among tall buildings/transport trucks it echoes lol it all depends where you have it exiting

Oh and it Definatly won't help with mpg.... If anything will make it worse as you'll be tromping in it everywhere just to hear the sweet call of the 6.0 yetti lol

This man is the devil of straight piping, lol! My 6.0 is straight piped and the only time I know it's straight piped is when I mash it.

My 6.0 is much happier, especially with the hot tunes I run.

You basically don't hear it in the cab until you mash it

Well I went in and picked up a transmission part and the oil
to put back in after I pull the pan and that stupid solenoid
that is spending my money. They happened to have 1 of the
only 2 solenoids in town. But they did not have the 08 pan
Oh well you win some you loose some. Might do the pan next
go a round for the 10K dump and fill.

Looks like my door lock actuators are taking a dump.

Anyone do the aluminum foil trick or just screw it and replace them?

Done it to multiple vehicles. Disassembled the actuator, removed the motor's thermistor plate, wrapped it in foil, and then reassembled. The first Excursion I did this to was over 8 years ago.
Also, some aren't made to come apart so you need to drill out plastic rivets and upon reassembly use screws to hold it together. It's been awhile since I've done any so the above is to the best of my memory.

Good to know.

First time I have experienced this on a Ford truck. Looks like I found my Saturday project.

The trickiest part was prying on the retaining clip and sliding the actuator off its mount. After you do one the rest won't take more than 15 minutes each. If you have the ones with the melted plastic rivets holding the case halves together, make sure you pre drill the holes for the screws when you reassemble. Wish I had pics but It was probably 5 phones ago and the pics are long gone.

I viewed a couple YouTube videos on the repair. Seems simple enough.

Remember what sized screws to use?

I don't. Use your best judgement. I'm pretty sure I drilled blind holes and used small wood type screws. Like I said it's been awhile.
