Question I Beam

I have the I beams from a 76 f100 and am planning on putting them on my 66. I was trying to find out if anyone knows how i would go about replacing the oval shaped axle pivot bushings on the I beams. they appear to be pressed in. I live in the Atlanta area.

If you are using the poly bushings you must save your old shells. This means you need to have the old ones pressed out. If you are using a set from NAPA or some other supplier they will have new shells. Just beat out the old and carefully squeeze the new ones in using your vise or a 2x4 and hammer. I guess you could buy new bushings with the shells, cut out the rubber and stick the poly bushings in and install as above. I use the NAPA ones and just squeeze them in with my vice. I also assemble the spindles on the bench and then install the I-Beam and spindles already assembled. Makes it easier to get those thin shims in.
