19.5" rim update
Stu,
I made it back to the junkyard to find more info on the rims we discussed in my new member tread from 12-21-2011. The vehicle the rims came from was a postal truck. A Dodge 1 ton parcel delivery. Rear end ID from vehicle tag was model A727. Looks like year of manufacture of truck was 1970. The junkman said the rims looked like they were made by International? That is all the new info I could find. Hope this may shed some light on these rims.

Doug - You're doing us all a big favor here. In your other thread you linked the picture of the Budd number, and also linked the Goodyear outer rim identifying info. All truck wheels back then used either Goodyear or Firestone outer rims with the wheel companies' centers. That's why you have the dual markings. I don't think IHC used these, but will have to go back to the books to refresh my memory. I know Ford, Dodge, and Studebaker used the 71410s. Chevy/GMC used similar wheels, but since the others you found have no numbers that pretty much says they are K-H. K-H either painted the numbers on the inner wheel base, or attached a paper tag with the numbers. No doubt long gone by now. Here's examples of how K-H did their numbers. The "X" number is the National Wheel and Rim Association cross reference number. Stu

Stu,
You were right!!! Jumped over to the Stovebolt site to see if I could find any leads to help positively ID these mystery rims. I read a thread about 19.5 Kelsey... rims and in it the author said something about "stamping by the valve stem". Well, I went out to check my rims and on the 2 with clips guess what I found, yep, really small stamping. "19.5x5.25" and "KELSEY" and something unreadable, around a sunburst circle. See photo. The other photo shows what looks like a cirlce but I can't make out the rest. Did not see any stamping on the two without clips but all four rims look the same. I also measured the center bore on all 4 rims and they all measure 4 7/8".
The most important thing about these rims was that they fit my 1949 F3 and let me roll down the road safely. They also kept my truck as original as possible which is my goal with all my trucks. I test fitted the hubcaps and it looks like the clips will actually work(opposite pressure). I was just going to keep using this set indefinetely because they work just fine. Can't argue with success. Now that I have found a full set of BUDD 71410s, I will be switching to those this spring and maybe selling this set but I haven't decided yet. Either way, I really like these 19.5s and am glad you suggested it.
All this rim stuff has been a real learning experience. I was sure glad to learn about the rim options to replace the widowmakers on these F3s and would never have figured it out without FTE. These old trucks aren't cheap but they sure are fun!

I've not heard of it, but suspect they'd work since the 19.5s seem to work. My initial impression was that there'd be a smaller center hole like on older wheels, but that wasn't the case on the 19.5s Doug found. I need to go back to the books and see if there's anything else to consider, but like you said the bolt pattern is the same 8 x 6.5" circle. As long as they clear the rear hubs it'd be a good option, as long as hub caps weren't to be used. Stu
