1988 f-150 clutch issues
I have a 1988 F-150 with a 5-speed manual trans. The clutch has had problems for years due to weak firewall where clutch linkage mounts and there were also issues with the (clutch slave) during this year. Any whey the clutch always worked you just had to push it to the floor to get it to engage enough to shift gears.
All of a sudden after the creek next to my house flooded and some debris got up under the truck I cant get the clutch to engage enough so I can **** it into gear. I have crawled underneath and cant find anything that would be causing this.
Is it possible that water got in somewhere that it would affect the clutch. The water was near the top of the tires for a few hours.
It is a hydraulic clutch and I checked the fluid.
You can shift the transmission when vehicle is not running without using the clutch, so I know the trans is ok.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The clutch isn't disengaging. Fix the firewall flex and bleed the master cylinder for starters.
The firewall piece from Ford is discontinued, but can still be found, and I haven't done the clutch master cylinder bleeding myself so if someone else could chime in and describe the procedure would be helpful.
