Hey, my best deals on ebay come from misspellings. I always do "alternative" spellings when searchin' on the 'bay. My favorite purchase was a 1999 Ford Toruss. The seller had a no reserve set and I got it cheap. When I went to pick up the car I could tell the seller wasn't very happy with the lack of interest. She just kept saying "I was sure there would be more interest". Only 2 people bid on the car. Oh, well...

On a side note: Make sure you folks always punch in variations when doing a search. Sometimes these fancy search engines pick up 53 but not 1953 or F-1 but not F1. Found many parts for my F100 but not my F-100. Have fun!

There was a repair shop down the street from my house that had a professionally made 20' banner sign hung up all summer that said "break replacement 69.00 per axel" I figured I'd check it out if I ever need my replacement broken, at least to find out how many axels it would take to do the job.

Yes. I agree. another one that drives me nuts is the lack of capital letters. apparently the shift key is missing from a ton of computers out there. the only thing worse than that are the 50 mile long run-on sentences that go on forever without even as much as a period this happens while every single word is spelled correctly which tells me they were educated at some point in their life

You can tell the difference between someone who is trying to make sense and somebody else who is perpetuating the "texting" language with no regards to 1st or 2nd grade level grammar.

Yeah, stop in & give them some grief about "there" sign. Axel may be unavailable, taking a brake.....

The bad thing is although they can't spell, etc., they can and do vote. I'll let you figure out for which party!

.
Or we use spell check where many times the homonyms show us up.

When my wife retired from her high school English teaching job the department made her a quilt. They hired a local artist to inscribe a notation into the quilt. One word in the notation was firmly and permanently stitched into the quilt, misspelling and all.

The sad thing is that the people who write crap using the texting abbreviations and characters don't seem to realize that they look like morons. They think everyone else isn't as cool as they are. They also don't realize that they are closing themselves out of good jobs by the way they communicate, act and dress. As a business owner I would never hire a person who comes to me looking for a job if every other work is urbonic, they're swinging their arms and hands around like a monkey, they have tatoos from their ears down to their ankles, more hardware in different parts of their head than Home Depot and their pants aren't pulled up to cover their butts.

I always wonder what the 20 somethings are going to be like and what they're going to be doing when, if they ever get to be senior citizens.

Has anyone read the book '1984' ?
Most would be familiar with 'Big Brother', but there is a reference to 'doublespeak'?

Every time I hear things like this thread, I think of the book.....
