Question Tow/haul mode defeat

Is there any way to keep the tow/haul engaged manually?
I'm tired of having to keep engaging it every time I start the truck after stopping for fuel, food, etc.
I'd like to be able to leave it on until I get where I'm going.

thanks

Tape the button?
At least that would work for my XLT with the shifter at the steering column.
Not sure if keeping the button depressed would re-engage tow/haul though, but likely yes.

I'm not sure the computer would like having a constant input on it like that? I kind of like drooling over the cool dash info thingie and setting up the tow mode to see the little orange icon come on but that's my thing I suppose. She certainly seems to perform a lot better to my tastes in tow mode so I get your point, kind of the default for you would be tow and option to "normal". No point in getting into the gas mileage issue in tow/haul... it seems the same in any configuration and no way am I saving a ton of dough on gas with this truck, its pretty good on gas and a ton of fun and power so that's cool with me.

Man I guess that millisecond it takes to push the button would take a toll on your mind

Now that's funny.

I know what the OP is saying though. It would be nice to be able to leave it on for an entire trip. I've forgotten to hit the button on a restart before.

I know there were mods for the 04-08s that used some basic electronics to simulate a button press some number of seconds after the truck cranked. It wouldn't be terribly hard to do with a LM555 in a one-shot configuration.

I don't think the constant input will work.

Or how about the few seconds it takes to turn the trailer sway control off that is on by default. Why is this? Why should one have to turn the sway control off when ever you start the vehicle?

I see the OP's point of view.
