It's actually a 6 3/4 foot bed.

That fifth wheel is no problem for that truck.

Thanks guys. My truck is a toy for me. I am not pulling anything at this time but retirement is coming up fast. I do maintain my 6.0 though and well I might add. Just not pulling anything right now.

Agreed, i pull well outside the rating usually around 26,000lbs trailer and load with SRW with 35" tires and 3.73 gears. Truck has never made me feel uncomfortable or white knockled, you should have no problems

Well this is one of those questions that everyone has a strong opinion about. I have towed the same 5th wheel over the same route for seven years. Six of those years with a 6.0 SRW and one with the new 6.7 DRW. I made it OK with the SRW but I will never be without a DRW for the rest of my towing days. Did the SRW work? Yes. Does the DRW work better YES YES YES. My 33' Alumascape is not too heavy, but the winds I tow in on I40 make a DRW a MUCH BETTER tow truck.

You will do what you want to do. If you don't tow in heavy crosswinds like I do your decision is a little less complicated. Also my 2011 is a tow truck only, no daily driving. I think the original question was not about a new truck, just towing a 5th wheel with the existing truck. I just thought I'd give my opinion about towing in general. Slowing down and being ever vigilant while towing is the key to safety no matter what you are towing or what the tow truck is.

Good luck with the choices!!

Jim
