tire chains? Would this set fit?

I am looking at a used set (never used) of alpine super sport 2526 chains for the back of my 2WD DRW but not sure if they would fit.

Would I only need to put one on each side? (outside tire?)

I need to drive through some snow covered roads here and was down one today that had a lot of snow covered ice at spots and started spinning around a turn, so I had to stop and put a few shovels of sand underneath my tires to finish making it up the grade on the hill.

I have 235-85-16 on my truck and the 2526 is made for the following tires:
32X11.50-15LT
P265/75R16
265/75R16LT
P265/65R17
265/70R17LT
8-19.5
33X9.50-15LT
255/85R16LT
P255/75R17
P265/70R17
275/65R17
225/70R19.5

http://www.lacledechain.com/light-tr...rt-super-sport

Would these fit (close enough) or should I skip them and get something different? When I look at the miata tire calc, the size is not off too much on a few of the ones listed.

(The 265/75R16LT is almost identical in the size)

Thanks,
Jason

I would go out on a limb and say no because the same manufacturer makes model number 2521 that is made for 235-85-16’s. I guess the question remains of “could they fit” not sure but I would buy something that I know will fit and not damage the wheel or get wrapped around the axle because they don’t fit securely. The down side is, if you buy them and they don’t fit, the money you saved on the used pair just made the new pair that much more expensive.

True.. I have no plans on using them longer then getting out of whatever spot I am stuck in, BUT if I had the correct part #, I would feel safer using them for a short distance longer if needed..

The tough call is I need them now, the other ones, I could have them on tomorrow morning, the others, I would need to order and wouldnt be here for about 1-2 weeks or longer..

Guess I will sleep on it lol

If you're handy, it's not hard to lengthen a tire chain. A 33x9.5 is very close to a 235-85-16 - I've had both on various trucks. I would have (on hand) all 4 chains, plus a spare. When you really need chains, you need all 4. If you put two on the outside wheels, you would gain some lateral stability, but if you have open (not locking) axle diffs, you likely are just going to spin the inside wheels, because they will have the least traction.

As with all tire chains, test-fit them LONG before you need them. It seems that 99% of people do not do this.

Thanks

My outside rear wheels spin together since they use the same studs as the inside ones.

I would be using it just to get out of the stuck spot and never on the roads.
