Yes, the housing on the 78-79 is closer to the center. The later ones have very little tube, Aso all ball joint units are newer, 92-97 was ball joint, if it is a dual wheel it is a newer model, And the hubs on the newer ones are different, but those interchange, so not a fail safe. I believe the brake calipers fasten differently as well on the old vs. the new.

It appears you have an eye for spotting good parts, do you have an idea where to find the output tail housing for a 75 F-250 highboy / NP435. I am converting a 75 to a 4 speed and could use any of the parts needed that you could acquire. Would love to drive to Montrose and break in my new 428.<o></o>
Thanks,<o></o>

PM if you can help out.

RE: axle for sale
Fellas, I know many people are looking for one of these, but I have to ask: do any of you have one for sale or no of where one is at??? I found one about a 100 miles from me, found out the guy is jerking me around. He won't even give me his name, come to find out it's because two other guys are interested. Thanks Gents. Shane

dana 60 axle
2 questions
1. What exactly is the difference for in the spring perch from the 78-79 Dana 60 to the 85-91 Dana 60 (Kingpins)? Is this for spring locations, as the earlier models allow for larger tires more clearance as to not rub as the newer ones or is that incorrect?
2. Are some of these axles still for sale
