For a comparison: A good tech can do an oil cooler swap in about 4 hours. That, of course, is with air tools. An EGR cooler delete is much simpler but I think a whole day is a good suggestion for the "shade tree" mechanic. 200-400 for a non-dealership shop should be a fair price. I know it can be done in less than 2 hours.

I am new to diesels, just got an '04 F250 6.0 superduty crew cab lariat, think my cooler is going, blowing white smoke out of exhaust and going through the antifreeze. Ihave called all the diesel techs in area. Ford dealership in Bristol TN will do a delete without up pipe for $475 labor and then add cost of delete kit ($196) he said dont need up pipe, RPM OFFROAD on Bristol does install the delete w/up pipe for a total of $894.98 includes kit. Dont know where you are located, I am in TN. Still confused if I need up pipe, sure there is forum for that but limited on phone good luck. Eva

X2 you want the new up pipe, I was amazed how large the "scoop" in the up pipe is for the EGR cooler.

Theres enough of us here thats done it and with all the info on here its not to Bad. The FTE Crowd really came threw when I did it lots of Great tips and tricks from everyone
I read that one guy used a deal cant remember what he called it it was like an exhaust Flaring tool but put it in there and tightened the bolt up on it and it Crushed the scoop down.
But to do it right I agree you should change that uppipe out so its alittle more Labor involved. But you should have better Turbo response with the new uppipe
