Hopefully that works

As far as black on the pistons. Soak them in diesel for a while. Then wire wheel them. It won't hurt them any. But the dremel really isnt a great idea.
As long as you don't gouge the pistons you'll be fine.

I'm just using a fine wire wheel in the dremel also, but it has the same effect. I will soak them and i bet it will help. the ring grooves are just full of that crap that i don't want to stay in there.

That bracket may work..

updates

I got in a hurry when i put the motor back together and committed a rookie mistake.(I'm gonna blame it on my girlfriend because she is why I was in a hurry)

So I got confused when I had the motor upside down re-installing the main caps. When I got to the rear one I put the seal in with some silicone between the two halves to get a good seal, but notice my mistake here.(front of motor to the right)

So it leaked oil and i wasn't sure where from in the back so I had to pull the motor again to get to it. She runs great though!

To identify the problem spot i put 2.5-3 gallons of oil in the motor and tipped it back at about a 45 degree angle. I didn't even have to apply air pressure before i saw it starting to trickle out of the bottom half of the rear main.

I suppose its good to have it pulled again to check over everything else too.

What the headers looked like before I got oil all over them.

can anyone see these pics in the post or do you have to open them in another tab?
I may have to reduce the quality or size so this works.
