Help needed - 2004 ford fx4 underglow

Alright guys, this is probably a wild goose chase, but I'm gonna ask anyway.

A friend of mine just bought a 2004 Ford F150 FX4 stepside. The truck came with a underglow kit installed, but the girl he bought it from said she unplugged it because she got a ticket for it. Now, Cody wants to hook it back up because he thinks it's cool. So my question is, where should i look to try to fix it for him? I've never had a truck newer then 87, and never messed with underglow, so was just wondering if anyone can give me some ideas.

Thanks

No experience with this, BUT, I would simply look for the lights underneath and chase the lead wires to see where the power comes from. this will ultimately reveal where the power was interupted. And BEFORE I attempted this, I would check local vehicle lighting laws based on the prior owner's experience. Why ask for trouble? Good luck.

Definitely check the laws on vehicle lighting. You will get a ticket for most of that kind of crazy lighting. I have also heard that on trucks, the lights are very easily damaged due to traveling off the road.

I would agree with checking the laws first. But there is power module that all wires should be going to that should be mounted somewhere metal (the screw bracket acts as a ground). This box needs to be connected to the positive of the battery, there should be a switch wired in somewhere as well. If there isnt you will have to run a switch between the module and the battery.

My girlfriends mom works for DMV, so I had her look up the laws for me. And as for the truck, Cody will never leave pavement with it.
