Warranty Question?

hey guys.... i have a question about my warranty... i have an 08 f350 6.4 with 48,000 miles on it... i believe the truck has the remaining 5yr/50k powertrain warranty left on it.... i just did the front brake pads and calipers....when i was about to put the tire back on i noticed this (2" in diameter) rubber gasket just hanging around the axle...then i noticed that the part this gasket is supposed to cover is cracked (it looks like part of the 4WD)... some type of metal or cast iron bushing type thing... so if it is part of the 4WD or part of the axle or something is that considered covered under the powertrain warranty or not?.... think im gonna bring it to the dealer to have them take a peek at it... thanks for any input guys!..... PS...sorry about knowing the part names and stuff... im a plumber not a mechanic!!! so my knowledge about these trucks is VERY limited...Thanks again!!!

Can't hurt to try. All they can tell you is that it is not covered.

dust cover seals are covered under the power train warranty. I had mine done.

Powertrain warranty is up to 60K miles...there is time limit but I think you are still within it.

Warranty is determined by the part that has failed.

Your powertrain warranty is 5/60,000 not 5/50,000.

no...as long as the conditions are dry it should be fine. Easy repair for the dealer, couple hours.

on a side note... i was trying to do the high idle mod to the #4 upfitter switch... i found the big bundle of wires with the yellow/green wire but the bundle of 4 wires that are supposed to be above that isnt there... the closest i found is a brown wire with a black covering (looks like black electrical tape but its not) that seems to be tied into the factory remote start control module....think this is the wire and i just have to cut it and splice into it?...
