Kinda Confused
With stock injectors and some tuning is it possible to reach 18psi boost?
Im gettin ready to up my HPOP and injectors as well as get an IC, but im confused as to what I have right now.
I got my ts chip with the 'canned' tunes of stock/high idle/econo/20/40/60
and I reach about 1200 degrees and 18 or so PSI when im gettin on it. like REALLY gettin on it.
Ive got to have stock injectors right? those boost numbers just confuse me..
any insight fellas?
thanks

check out this thread I started yesterday, a few posts in it talks about the different models (Cali & non-Cali) and what kind of boost you should be seeing.
Thanks

Thanks guys for the info! Yeah your thread puts me at rest.
I was just 'worried' I had stage 1s without knowing it. and if I had stage 1s...i was wondering why I had no IC yet. I got worried the PO was really hard on the truck.
Not that having stage 1s already wouldnt be a bad thing lol I just didnt wanna send my injectors off to Jim to get built to stage 1 and he calls me like "yo...these are stage 1" lol
anyway. Thanks.

yea, would love the stage 1's, but the IC will be in the near future for me. too much towing to not have one...

so is it worth going to 1's if you can't use the juice in your opinion? I eventually plan on a turbo upgrade, but a few yrs down the road.

Oh heck yes. The stage 1's make it a completely different animal. Under normal driving conditions I only see up to about 20-22 psi, but when I go hammer down and keep my foot in it is when I see the higher boost levels. As mentioned I think I have an exhaust leak so my tunes are pretty smoky, but this 8,000lb brick of a truck moves out pretty darn nice.

I agree with Chase. Stage I's are definately worth the money! Night and day difference between stock injectors with a chip and Stage I's with a chip...
Sometimes I've forgotten that the chip was in "stock" setting and drove around for a few mintues wondering "what's wrong with my truck? It's driving like a pig..." then I look down and see the chip is in the wrong position! lol

My chip was burned for stage 1's from the start, but I threw it in before I did the injectors just to see if there was much difference and all it really did was make it smoke a little. Stage 1's in the stock tune on my chip is still puny compared to my daily driver tune, but a HUGE change from a flat stock truck.
