F150 HD/ MPG?
Hey guys, hope to get the 150HD ordered this week! Given the components of the HD pkg, should that dramatically reduce fuel economy for an Eco/4x4/CC/3.73 of course, 6.5 ft bed? Sample window sticker when "built" on dealer's software indicates the usual 15 city/ 21 hwy, but I'm not so sure. Thoughts?

I think it's optimistic....I'd likely expect 15-18 mpg empty w/ 3.73's...the thing to keep in mind is your mpg will be greatly affected by the conditions you drive in. If you constantly drive 80 mph or you're always driving in the mountains you won't get nearly the fuel economy as if you drive in flat areas. I don't see 21 mpg unless you're on relatively flat ground and you drive really easy for fuel economy.

You have a little more weight with the club cab, and 6.5' bed than my supercab, 4x4 ecoboost with 3.73 (though I have a toolbox in the bed with 100-150lbs and airbags. I usually get
55mph 20-21mpg
60mph 19-20mpg
70mph 17-18mpg
For a short city run, I can get 13-15. For a 10-20 mile across the city -some suburb driving with speeds from 30-40 I can get 18-19
For the first 5-10 miles mpg stinks as it takes forever for the engine to warm up. Here it is only low 30's but it makes my mpg drop by 2mpg (for shorter city drives) due to the long warm up time. Even in the summer with morning temps in 70's it takes at least 5 miles to warm up and get efficient.
To get the above listed numbers on the highway you need at least 25 miles of hwy driving to make up for the sorry mpg that it gets before the engine has warmed up.
I expected to get about 18mpg average but I am more like 16-16.5.
Hills, winds, using the cruise control, driving over 55, jack rabbit starts all contribute to lower mpg.
If you drive like a granny and let off the gas a block before each intersection, and coast as much as possible, and drive 55mph with no cruise control you might average 18 for a tank.
Mpg is my only complaint about the truck. it tows like a bat out of ......, rides smooth and looks nice
