An 86 6.9 w/c6 eqauls no sensors no computor everything will be mechanical. As has been said before, these trucks would keep on rollin right thru an EMP blast lol! They are not as picky on fuel either, nothing like the new stuff. You will not see any eletronics till you get into the 90's 7.3 trucks w/e4od. They have speed senors and stand alone computors for the trans as well as tps for it.

 

Not such a bad thing since most of the codes I've experienced have been the sensor and not the thing its attached to. Without a computer you become part of the machine

It's a nice looking truck for the age. I'm not sure what XJ is worth but I have seen trucks similar to this one sell for $1500-$1700. Sometimes less if it has an issue or the engine doesn't start.

I live just north of DFW if you want to drive that far. There aren't many active Texas members on this site for some reason. I see IDIs around here all the time so one would think more people would get involved with a site like this.

 

I paid close to $3000 for the 250 in my sig because it didnt have as much rust as the comparables in my area. I "missed" a 93 reg cab 350 4X4 that had no rust for $4500...... With 299,000 miles. 60k on reman motor

 

I would wonder why the truck needs plugged in in Texas. What is your temp?
