This topic has been discussed on other truck sites, but don't recall it here. From memory it involves a putting a S-10 T-5 tail shaft on a world class case. The shifter of a factory Mustang T-5 will be to close to the seat and miss the removable plate in the truck.

I have a couple of T-5's and would be interested in this in the future, so post any more info you gather on this topic.

This is a popular conversion for Ranger's.

Any reason why? There are 5 speeds that actually fit with factory parts.

T5 will not last in a truck. They are light duty transmissions for light cars with low to moderate power and torque. Use a ZF5 for a factory fit, or a 3550/TKO500/TKO600, or any of the other options that will not break the first time you pull a load or shift quickly on the throttle.

It was in 87+(or was it 88+?) F250 and F350s behind the 300 and 351w for sure.

What kind of play toy you have in mind? The ZF5 is a granny low 5 speed with overdrive, so basically a 4 speed overdrive for average driving. If your wanting a street machine a WC T5, tremac 5 or 6 speed are good trans and can easily handle 400hp.

It is going to be a street machine, and not a daily driver. Have you installed a t5 in to a f150

Nope never have. If I were going to build a street truck to play with I'd probably use a built auto with overdrive.
