i have decided that i want to go back with a t5 5speed i know i will have to come up with a hydrolic clutch system and a pedal flywheel and clutch, along with a shifter. Has anyone else done this?
This topic has been discussed on other truck sites, but don't recall it here. From memory it involves a putting a S-10 T-5 tail shaft on a world class case. The shifter of a factory Mustang T-5 will be to close to the seat and miss the removable plate in the truck.
I have a couple of T-5's and would be interested in this in the future, so post any more info you gather on this topic.
This is a popular conversion for Ranger's.

Reason: add ranger's
T5 will not last in a truck. They are light duty transmissions for light cars with low to moderate power and torque. Use a ZF5 for a factory fit, or a 3550/TKO500/TKO600, or any of the other options that will not break the first time you pull a load or shift quickly on the throttle.
i will look in to those other tranny's. this trucks working days are over.. it will be a pampered play toy but i want something that can handle about 400hp and not too heavy
What kind of play toy you have in mind? The ZF5 is a granny low 5 speed with overdrive, so basically a 4 speed overdrive for average driving. If your wanting a street machine a WC T5, tremac 5 or 6 speed are good trans and can easily handle 400hp.

It is going to be a street machine, and not a daily driver. Have you installed a t5 in to a f150
