Edge Insight VGT% warning alert
#2
Someone has set that alert for 85%. Was that you?
I see your engine is not warmed up, so I assume you had just started it. With the latest flash strategy, your turbo vanes will sweep open and closed to keep them clean. Mine seems to do it at an idle rather consistently until the engine is warmed up. I read that it should only do it once per hour, but maybe that is on a warm engine. Because when cold mine when do it at about every stop light. When I was displaying that PID, I could watch the % sweep from around 25% up to about 85%.
I don't think you need an alert at all for VGT%. Just set it for maximum boost. I have my boost alert at 30psi, IIRC.
Question back at ya. Why are you watching ICP voltage and ICP pressure? Isn't just displaying pressure all you need?

Thank you there Bill. Drove her 15 minutes to the store went in then came out & started her to leave. Been doing this regulary on start up at idle. Alert warning came preset at that value. Trying to learn all I can about each parameter. The latest ones are the VGT%, ICP volt, & ICP pressure. Was reading something the other day you can tell something by matching the two values together but cant remember now what it was. Pretty much trying to get familiar with ali of the info.

You'll want to check the alert levels on all the PIDs. They have some default values on some of them, but they may not be good for the 6.0. And others may not be set at all, and you'll want to add them.
I don't know of any reason to monitor ICP voltage and pressure both, because as far as I know they should be directly related. I think what you may be thinking of is the relationship between ICP pressure and IPR percentage. That can tell you if you have a HPO leak. But unfortunately, I don't think the Insight gives us IPR%. I thought it did, but when I tried to find it on the list it was not available.
