5 Star Trim questions

I want to put the 5 star windshield and window trim on my F6. I know the windshield trim comes off but does the door window trim? Any tips on how to take it off/ put it on? I know of a couple of trucks in the area I could get it off. Thanks

What do you mean by the "door window trim"? All trucks were 5 Star. The trucks with the additional tirm and options were called 5 Star Extra or Deluxe.

The Deluxe doors have chrome glass division bars, chrome vent window frames, armrests, additional interior door trim panels and additional brackets welded onto the door for the upper/lower trim panels and the arm rest. The door also had two holes drilled through for the armrest mounts. Lastly, the left door had a lock cylinder.

Oh ok I guess I misunderstood what I read before. Yes I am talking about the deluxe trim around the windshied and around the windows on the doors, which sounds like the division bars and frames. So?

The door glass division bars and the vent window assemblies are simple bolt on items and are direct replacements for one another; deluxe vs. standard. The hardest part will be getting all of the rusty, seized up screws loose without damaging anything.

It's best to cut the windshield rubber on the inside around the glass and pull the windshield and moulding out together as an assembly. Installation is reversed with a new rubber seal.

And don't forget to cut off the four metal tabs that are in the cab's windshield area. Otherwise the trim won't fit and you can break the glass while trying to install it.

You can get your existing vent window frames and division bars chromed.

Great thanks for the info! So only the windshield trim is stainless? The rest is just chromed? If I can just chrom the pieces I have I'll just buy the windshield trim.

The vent window is definitely chrome. The division bars may have a stainless trim surround around it, but if you chrome it, no one will know the difference. I'll check today as I have several deluxe doors.

I also have a spare w/s stainless trim, but it's missing the clip that attaches the two halves together on the bottom. PM or email me if interested.
