2011 used F350 6.7 Dually Lariat or 2012 new F350 6.7 Dually XLT

Hello All! Decisions, Decisions! I have a choice of purchasing a used 2011 F350 6.7 Lariat Dually with 15,000 miles or a new 2012 F350 6.7 XLT Dually for the same price. Obviously the Lariat has many more plush features on the interior with the mechanical/exterior features seem to be the same. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I was going to purchase a 2008 F350 6.4 and have decided instead to get the 6.7. Thanks for any advice!

I guess this is really a personal preference thing... I don't like the features that the Lariat trim package offers because they usually are equipped with a console instead of a middle seat, carpet floor instead of vinyl and a navigation system instead of a normal radio. Sometimes they even have a sunroof and I don't understand why trucks even offer sunroofs at all. I played with the power fold mirrors and they were fun for about 3 minutes but that got old quickly. But you might like to have those features...

I would get the new one, then you know the entire story of the vehicle.

It's difficult for me or anyone to critically analyze the options for you if there is no mechanical advantage or disadvantage as you mentioned.

There are differences. Typically the Lariat trim level comes with the LCD information center in the gauge pod. Many XLT's do not. That feature alone would make my decision for me. There is a wealth of information available there, that you simply do not have without it.

Beyond that, I like the other Lariat features, the one you are looking at may or may not have:

Ford Sync - hands free phone connection
Power rear window?
Heated/cooled seats
climate control

15K miles on the 2011 is hardly broken in. If it were me, I would go with the higher trim level assuming everything else is equal.

I trade a 2005 SD Lariat for my 2011 XLT with the premium package. The only thing I miss is the digital climate control.

I have the XLT with the premium package. love it, I dont know what the Lariat has over mine but it cant be much . I love my power fold/extend mirrors thank you very much. I have the Center dash LCD display, but my radio is the stock AM/FM/CD with SYNC, so I dont have that digital nav thingy, but I do have the rapid heat supplement, but not heated seats or digital climate.

Id say if I had a choice of the two Id take the new XLT. Depends on what the XLT is trimmed with.

I traded an 08 6.4 XLT dually for an 11 Lariat Dually and I'd never go back to an XLT again, the Lariat is driving a Limo by comparison...I'd go with the lariat anytime...

I would go with the 2011 Lariat because I like the nice trim inside. You need to decide what is important to you.

The back up camera is the best tool on my truck. It saves me from hitting my garage door daily and is a huge help in parking lots. As a smoker the electric rear window is really nice. The blue tooth phone connection is easy to use and helpful on long drives. If you plan on keeping the truck for several years I recommend the Lariat. Just get the car fax first so you know it hasn't been hit. You can probably get another 1k off the price if you are a pain in the ***. I have the Lariat ultimate package with snow plow prep. The heavier springs level the truck! The rubber mats are great. Good hunting.

Red face

The folding mirrors are great for drive throughs and mailboxes and any narrow gates just put them back to watch your sides if your turning
